Info:

This Gendaito is made by Taguchi Kiichi. It is signed as "Hizen Kuni Masatsugu" and made in 昭和38年2月吉日 (February 1963) . Masatsugu was born in July, 1904 and learned swordmaking from his father, Taguchi Ichitaro. He also studied under Kurihara Akihide and won many awards including the Gold Metal at the 5th Nihonto Denrankai. He worked as a Rikugun Jumei Tosho from 1941 to 1945. He is listed in Gendai Toko Meikan, pp.145 and John slough's book, pp.106-107. He was rated as the 1 million yen smith at Toko Taikan.
